My interest in science and my desire to assist people have sprouted in me the passion for medicine. Biology and chemistry being my favorites has lead me toward a B.S in Chemistry with a concentration in Biochemistry. After engaging in advanced chemistry courses and the cancer research at Dr. Mallikaratchy’s laboratory, I found myself drawn to understanding the idea of designing and modifying aptamers to improve their binding to the cancerous cells. Currently, I am working on designing and synthesizing a small clickable generation-two dendritic derivative attached to multiple flurophores to enhance the signaling capability of an aptamer. My goal is to gain an M.D. degree after I graduate and eventually become a cardiologist. Outside of the lab, I enjoy cycling, playing badminton and exploring the city.
