Chinelle Hutchinson

Major: Undergraduate Research Assistant

In life, I have always desired to pursue a career within the Medical field. My interest within the sciences, biology, and chemistry to be more specific, has greatly impacted my decision to become a doctor, along with the passion for assisting people. My goal is to obtain an MD/Ph.D. degree and become an Obstetrician Gynecologist. After taking many science courses, I decided to pursue a BA in Chemistry with a concentration in Biochemistry. Due to having a deep interest in both biology and chemistry, I joined a lab that will extend my knowledge on these sciences and also because I love to research and investigate mysteries of the human body. In Professor Mallikaratchy’s lab, we are designing aptamers to improve the way they bind to cancerous cells. Aside from being in the laboratory, I volunteer at the Montefiore hospital, work in a pharmacy, and I tutor in Chemistry. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, hanging out with friends and families, or vacationing and exploring the world.
